For the third time in slightly over a year, USA employees opened their hearts and their wallets to provide relief to the victims of natural disasters.
USA employees contributed a total of $242,120 through payroll deduction for the 2005 hurricane relief campaign. Those funds were supplemented and matched with company funds to bring USA relief donations to $500,000.
In addition to the donations, USA volunteers have spent hundreds of hours volunteering at shelters, collecting food and other supplies, and cleaning and clearing brush from homes in the affected areas.
In early November, USA received a letter from President George W. Bush thanking the company for its philanthropic spirit.
“I appreciate your effort, and our whole Nation is grateful for your kindness … The good works of United Space Alliance demonstrate the character and great strength of our Nation,” Bush wrote in his letter.
