Meinhardt, a department manager for the Mission Control Center, Integrated Planning System and Software Production Facility, Facility Management Office, was a charter member of the Board of Directors of LLT, a land trust that actively pursues the protection of important land resources for the benefit of the community through cooperation with landowners, government agencies and area residents.

“Having open space in a community for parks and wildlife habitat is really important for our overall quality of life,” Meinhardt said. “This is the only way to keep us truly connected to the natural world that ultimately sustains life on planet Earth.”

As a Director for LLT, he was involved in setting up policies and procedures, and reviewing and approving easements, including several in southeast Houston.

Meinhardt has also been involved with the Armand Bayou Nature Center (ABNC) since the early ‘90s.

“ Armand Bayou Nature Center is an incredibly unique and valuable asset for the Clear Lake area and really for all of Houston,” Meinhardt said. “As a private nonprofit organization, ANBC needs a lot of involvement and resources from the surrounding communities - people, businesses and government - to keep it going.”

Meinhardt previously served two years as the president of Armand Bayou Nature Center Board of Trustees. He still serves on the board and continues to contribute primarily to the areas of finance and strategic planning.
