Space Shuttle Program
We are proud of our outstanding performance and exceptional customer support to the Space Shuttle Program. Under the Space Flight Operations Contract and Space Program Operations Contract, we consistently received "excellent" performance ratings and even achieved a remarkable 100 performance score.
Since 1996, we managed 55 Shuttle missions and 28 ISS expeditions, achieving 99% of NASA's major mission objectives. We delivered 99.5% of the Shuttle hardware without deficiencies and 99% of all products were delivered on time. Our flight software processes are CMMI Level 5-certified processes and consistently deliver Lean Six Sigma (L6S) quality. We developed a world-class Supply Chain Management System that controlled more than 1.3 million spare parts for the Space Shuttle and ISS programs. This extraordinary performance, supported by our commitment to safety and our unrivaled capabilities, saved American taxpayers more than $3 billion over 15 years.
Accolades
USA's performance has been recognized by our peers and our customers. In 2009, USA received NASA's highest honor for quality and performance - the George M. Low Award - for our commitment to teamwork, safety, customer service, and technical and managerial excellence. That year, we also received the prestigious 2009 Robert J. Collier Trophy from the National Aeronautic Association for our work on the ISS Team.
We have won multiple safety awards and is the only large prime contractor in Houston, Texas to receive three consecutive "Outstanding" ratings in legislatively mandated Small Business Administration compliance reviews.
